Rey Mysterio is one of the most influential superstars in WWE history. His extreme determination for the sport still motivates a lot of young superstars to take up professional wrestling. Mysterio made a name for himself as the man with the mask during his time in WCW. He put an interesting side of himself on the table and famously had some of the best matches of his career in WCW. Being a Luchador, Rey delivered some over-the-top performances throughout his career wearing a mask. While it is in Luchador’s tradition to never unmask themselves in the ring, there have been various instances when this tradition has been broken in the WWE. Rey has previously talked about the importance of wearing the mask inside the ring and never breaking it off.
Eddie Guerrero Unmasked Rey Mysterio
One of the most personal and intense rivalries of the Ruthless Aggression Era was between Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio. The feud got heated and even involved Rey’s son, Dominik Mysterio, in the frame.
In one such instance, Eddie brutalized Rey and left him with his mask half torn inside the ring. The rivalry between former tag team partners ran through 2005 and was highly popular.
Chris Jericho Famously unmasked Rey Mysterio during their match
Chris Jericho was the ultimate heel back in 2008-09 and portrayed a villainous character on screen. His rivalries with Shawn Michaels, John Cena, and many other superstars were pure classics.

One of his standout moments was with Rey Mysterio during their Intercontinental Championship match. Jericho promised to unmask Rey to win the title, and he did the same, exposing his face.
Cody Rhodes did the unthinkable during his rivalry with Rey Mysterio
Cody Rhodes was on a rampage during 2011, as Rey ended his ‘dashing’ persona. Rhodes was on a roll, upsetting the biggest little man in every way possible.
Rhodes did every single thing to even things up, and in one of the instances, he even removed his mask as a sign of revenge. They both clashed various times during 2011 and had a memorable rivalry.

The Miz unmasked Rey Mysterio in 2022
