Sean Strickland came all guns blazing, in the first round, working his jabs beautifully and dominating Uriah Hall throughout the course of the fight. Strickland’s jab was on display in the five rounds, as he dominated Hall to pick up a unanimous decision win over the MMA veteran.
Hall just couldn’t keep up with the pace of Strickland who looked at his absolute best going against a seasoned veteran in the form of Hall. In the process, Strickland answered all his critics, who have often called him sloppy and reckless inside the Octagon owing to his devastating fighting style. With the win, Strickland is now on a five-fight win streak, and will possibly find himself in the top-10 of the UFC’s middleweight division rankings when they are updated.

Sean Strickland has taken his own time to rise through the UFC rankings, after making his debut back in 2015 in the welterweight division. Strickland will now look to get in the title contention with couple more wins to his name and definitely looks like a solid contender right now to compete against the absolute best that the division has to offer.
Despite the reach disadvantage, Strickland looked to be in complete control of the fight, and managed distance really well. He was equally impressive in clinch exchanges and showed great footwork and approach to get a comfortable win over someone as dangerous as Uriah Hall.
What’s next for Sean Strickland after a comfortable win over Uriah Hall?
Sean Strickland has a lot of options going forward in his UFC journey. Jack Hermansson is an exciting option for Strickland, who is yet to face a grappler in his middleweight journey. Hermanson is a fighter who could put Strickland’s grappling to test, and with his rock solid chin, can also prove to be a dangerous opponent for the American fighter.
The only other fighter in the top-8 of the middleweight division without a fight right now is Paulo Costa, and while the match-up looks to be very difficult considering the gap in the rankings, it’s safe to say that should it take place, it’s bound to get the attention of fight fans around the world.
