Serena Williams is now actively supporting an investigation on Peng Shuai, a Chinese player who went missing in the United States. The Chinese player is a former Wimbledon Champion in the doubles category. She has been missing she revealed that a senior minister in the Chinese government has been forcing her into a sexual relationship.

Several stars into Stanislas Wawrinka, Naomi Osaka, Judy Murray, and many others have joined the movement to help find the Chinese player. They have come up with the hashtag #whereispengshuai in order to offer support to the Chinese player.

Recently, the shocking news came in when the Chinese media released a letter claiming that it was from Peng stating that she was fit and healthy. The reports also claim that it was written in her handwriting which has made the officials think.

A few days back, the Chinese player Peng allegedly claimed that one of the senior ministers in the Chinese government has been trying to sexually assault her. Since then, she has been gone missing. Though the Chinese media claims that she is not missing and there is nothing to worry about, the WTA is still concerned about the situation.

The American legend came forward in support of the Chinese player and demanded an investigation so that the Chinese player could be found. “I am devastated and shocked to hear about the news of my peer, Peng Shuai. I hope she is safe and found as soon as possible. This must be investigated and we must not stay silent. Sending love to her and her family during this incredibly difficult time.” tweeted Serena Williams.

Novak Djokovic also came forward and claimed the news to be shocking. Beijing is yet to comment on the allegations claimed by Peng against former Chinese vice premier Zhang Gaoli and discussion of the topic has been blocked on China’s heavily censored internet.

Not only the players, but the Amazon Prime analyst also came forward with help for the missing player. “Hopefully there will be that swell of momentum that will get us the answer. Her safety is absolutely paramount.“Fingers crossed this does have a happy ending because it has been very uncomfortable to read and listen about these circumstances.”
