Serena Williams is considered to be one of the best female tennis players to ever have graced the tennis court. She recently retired after the conclusion of the US Open and since has decided to focus on other initiatives. Serena has a large portfolio of companies and startups wherein she has invested a lot of money.
Most of her investments are towards firms and startups which are founded or support women or minorities. It seems that she has continued with this trend and Serena Ventures has invested in one of the companies that manufacture plant-based supplements for women over the age of forty.
These supplements specifically target the effects of changing hormones in ageing women and also affect moodiness, stress levels and sleep quality.
What is Wile Women, Serena Williams’ latest initiative?
Serena Williams seemed very excited about her new initiative and her investment into Wile Women. She said,
“We invested because women need to invest in ourselves, and when we do we thrive.”
Wile Women’s official description on the page says that Wile uses plant-based medicines and chemicals to demystify and embrace the hormonal powers of a growing woman.
The supplements developed by Wile would help the women be themselves at their highest powers yet. Serena is also preparing to invest in a Nigerian data and intelligence startup known as Stears Business. The company is currently led by Mac Venture Capital and has other companies similar to Serena Ventures investing in them.
The CEO of Stears Business recently announced that they have closed out on 3.3 million dollars worth of seed round funding which also had the attendance of Serena Williams’ venture fund. It seems that Serena is continuing to follow the trend of investing money into startups.
Now that she has finally retired from the sport of tennis, she can put more of her focus not only on her family but also on Serena Venture Funds which has invested money into a lot of startups and firms.
