Serena Williams has been the best female tennis star of all time. Her record speaks for herself, she had the maximum amount of titles to her name in the female category. Serena has been out of play since she got injured a year ago.

Since then, her fans have anticipated her return to the tennis surface. There was a lot of excitement for her coming back to the Wimbledon, but the fans were disappointed after her name did not appear on the player list. Serena’s name did not appear on the player’s list due to her ranking being low.

However, the announcement of the wildcard entries is yet to be made and what a better place to make her come back than the Wimbledon Championship. Serena’s latest Instagram post has caused a frenzy among the fans since she has indirectly confirmed her return to the upcoming Wimbledon.

Serena Williams teases her comeback with her latest Instagram Post

There was a cloud of doubt over Serena’s participation in the Wimbledon, however, that has now been cleared by her latest Instagram post. Her post on Instagram comprised of a photo with her trainers and ankle braces on a grass surface with her tennis bag in the background.

Serena captioned her photo with, “SW and SW19. It’s a date. 2022, see you there.” She also tagged Eastbourne International with a pre-Wimbledon WTA event that begins later in the week.

Serena has not competed in a tour game since the first round match of Wimbledon last year which was against Aliaksandra Sasnovich after she slipped on the grass and had to retire forcefully due to an injury caused in the fall.

Her ranking plummeted to 1208 and because of this, she cannot directly participate in the Wimbledon without getting a wildcard entry which she most definitely will get. Fans would surely be anticipating witnessing the GOAT back on the grass court at Wimbledon.

A lot of them would also be looking forward to the potential clash of Iga Swiatek who has been dominating tennis since the beginning of the year fighting it out against one of the veterans and the most decorated player of the sport, Serena Williams.
