Naomi Osaka’s hunt for Tokyo gold vanished all of a sudden. The 4-time grand slam winner was shown her way out of the tournament pretty unexpectedly. Naomi Osaka just came into the 3rd round with a victory over Viktorija Golubic. The Japanese sensation came out on top and easily defeated the Swiss star 6-3, 6-2.
Fresh into the third round she faced Marketa Vondrousova. The Czech Republic star would not have thought of such a match to happen. She defeated the Japanese with a score of 6-1, 6-4. The match lasted merely an hour as the Czech star dominated the match from the start till the end.
The match was headed on by French referee Emmanuel Joseph. Fan-favorite Naomi Osaka came with all the odds in her favor. Little did she know that the Czech star was ready to turn the tables and emerge victorious here at the Ariake Tennis park.
