Let us look at some of the Ironic names in soccer:
1. Ashley Young:
English professional football player Ashley Young is a full-back or winger for Everton FC in the Premier League. However, the irony here is that he is the oldest player in his club and his name is “Ashley Young”.
2. Chris Smalling:
English professional soccer player Chris Smalling is a center-back for Roma in the Serie A. From 2011 to 2017, Smalling was an England national team member. Smalling played for the Millwall academy in his early years before moving on to Maidstone United, a non-League team. However, the irony here is that he is the tallest player in the AS Roma squad and his name is “Chris Smalling”.
3. Kyle Walker:
English professional soccer player Kyle Walker represents both the England national team and Manchester City in the Premier League as a right-back. Walker is renowned for his quickness, strength, and vision and is regarded as one of the best fullbacks of his generation.
