Andreas Brehmer died at the age of 63
The German player has left a great legacy for German soccer. Andreas Brehmer most notably scored the winning penalty for Germany in the final of the FIFA World Cup 1990. Germany beat Argentina in the final of the tournament all thanks to Andre’s match-winning heroics. He was also part of the German team that lost to Argentina in the final of the previous World Cup.

Andre reportedly suffered a cardiac arrest that ultimately led to his untimely demise. His wife, Sussane broke the news via a statement that read (via Sport BILD), “It is with deep sadness that I announce on behalf of the family that my partner Andreas Brehme died suddenly and unexpectedly tonight as a result of a cardiac arrest.”
Susanne also requested privacy for her family and asked the media to refrain from asking any questions. His former employers FC Bayern Munich and 1. FC Kaiserslautern have expressed their sadness on this unfortunate event.
The German played for some of the biggest European clubs
Andreas Breahme had a playing career that could make any soccer player envious. The winner of the 1990 FIFA World Cup winner played for European giants like FC Bayern Munich and Inter Milan. He even racked up more than 300 appearances in the Bundesliga. A prolific left-back during his playing years, Andreas Brehme earned 86 caps for his national side, Germany.

Andreas also tried his luck at soccer management. He managed teams like 1. FC Kaiserslautern for two seasons and was also an assistant manager at VfB Stuttgart from 2005-2006.
