Gerard Pique has been in the news for all the wrong reasons of late. His performances on the pitch have been abysmal. They have led to reports that Barcelona is planning to part ways with the Spaniard in the summer. He has also reportedly cheated on his long-time girlfriend Shakira.
Gerard Pique seemingly mocks Shakira
Sources and friends close to the Barcelona player said that Pique seemingly mocked Shakira, commenting on age differences. Pique said, “I feel younger.” This was an apparent dig at the age difference between Pique (35) and Shakira (45). He is now dating a 23-year-old PR student who used to work at his media company Kosmos.

According to Marca, Pique had taken his new girlfriend Clara Chia Marti on a vacation to France. While on vacation, he has been accused of doing something many have described as “petty”. The Barcelona defender reportedly took Chia Marti to a restaurant in Paris. This restaurant was reportedly Shakira’s favorite dining spot. This was an apparent jibe at the Colombian singer who has recently released a single, whose lyrics are reportedly regarding her split with Pique.
Shakira’s tax fraud case
Legendary Pop singer Shakira is set to enter a trial for her 2018 tax evasion case. Spanish prosecutors accused the Columbian singer of not paying taxes from 2012-2014. But Shakira has denied all the allegations as she insists that there was nothing illegal in her tax returns.
In July this year, she was offered a settlement. She could have settled the tax evasion lawsuit. But the 45-year-old did not agree to the terms and decided to go on a trial to prove her innocence. There is a possibility that Shakira may face up to 8 years in jail. Not only that, but Shakira would also have to pay a sum of €23.8 million on top of imprisonment if she is found guilty.
Shakira also wanted to take her children and move to Miami. Pique has used the tax fraud case to also help him gain custody of his children. Pique does not want their children to leave Spain, where they have spent all their lives.
