After having a disastrous 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign, the German Soccer Federation (DFB) finally drew the line with Hansi Flick when Germany lost 4-1 to a lower-ranked Japan side in the Euro 2024 Qualifiers at the Wolfsburg Stadium. Earlier, Germany had lost to Japan 2-1 in their opening match in the 2022 World Cup.
The DFB has passed on the responsibility of the National Team to Rudi Völler, Hannes Wolf, and Sandro Wagner. They will be taking charge of Tuesday’s friendly against France.

Reportedly, the ex-German manager is the first manager in the 123-year history of the DFB to be sacked. Previously, all 10 coaches left voluntarily. Germany has lost all three of their last matches under the guidance of Hansi Flick. The defeat against Japan also marks their fifth defeat in their last six home outings.
He left the managerial post at FC Bayern Munich in 2021 to pursue his dream of being the coach of the German National Team.

“Looking ahead to the European Championship in our country, we need a spirit of optimism and confidence,” DFB president Bernd Neuendorf said in a statement explaining why Flick was removed. “For me, it is one of the most difficult decisions of my time in office so far”.
It was confirmed in the DFB statement that they want to find a replacement for Hansi Flick as soon as possible, and Rudi Völler is not a long-term option.
Career Earnings as Bayern and Germany Coach
Before coaching the German National Team, Flick joined Bayern as an assistant coach before finally becoming the coach for the 2019–20 season. In that particular season, Bayern won the Champions League, and Flick was offered a 3-year deal until 2023. He had a tremendous record of 86-70-9-7 (Matches Played- Won-Draw- Lost) with a win percentage of 81.40%.
When Hansi Flick was the assistant coach, he reportedly earned around $4 million per year. But after the Bayern owners decided to extend his contract in April 2020, they adjusted his salary, which rose to $8 million a year, making him one of the highest-paid managers. In the summer of 2021, the contract was prematurely terminated after Flick decided to coach the German National Team.
After his tenure in the Bundesliga, Hansi Flick signed a 3-year contract with Germany until 2024. He had a record of 25-12-7-6 with a win percentage of 48%. As per reports, Hansi Flick used to earn $6 million a year. His earnings would have increased to $9 million a year if Germany had won the World Cup or finished in the top three places. Top national sides pay bonuses to their coaches; the bonus was $2 million for Hansi Flick. Right now, Flick’s current net worth is to be around $11 million.
