In the greatest soccer rivalry of all time, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have battled each other for the last decade. Both have been praised for their individual brilliance, and their accomplishments in the UEFA Champions League have made them two of the most decorated players in the history of the sport.

One of the most impressive accomplishments for both of these superstars is their success in the UEFA Champions League. The Champions League is the highest level of club soccer in Europe, and the two have dominated it since 2009. So who has won more UCLs? The answer is Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has won five UCL titles, one with Manchester United and four with Real Madrid. He is the first player in history to win the UCL five times. Meanwhile, Messi has won four UCL titles with Barcelona, tying him with former Barcelona teammate Andres Iniesta for the second most UCL titles won by one player.

How many UCLs did Lionel Messi win?

Lionel Messi is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time and is undoubtedly the best player of his generation. He has achieved many accolades throughout his illustrious career, including winning a record-breaking seven Ballon d’Or awards, six Golden Shoes, and 34 major titles. But perhaps one of his most impressive feats is the number of UEFA Champions League (UCL) titles he has won.

Messi has won four UCL titles during his time at Barcelona. He was part of the Barcelona squad that won the UCL in 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2015. In addition to these four titles. The first UCL title Messi won with Barcelona was in 2006, when they defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the final. He scored his first UCL goal in the semi-final against AC Milan and was instrumental in the final victory.

In 2009, Barcelona won the UCL again, this time defeating Manchester United 2-0 in the final. Messi was the star of the show in this final, scoring a brilliant individual goal to seal the victory. Messi then won his third UCL title in 2011, when Barcelona defeated Manchester United again in the final. He scored another crucial goal in the semi-final against Real Madrid and was a key player in the final victory.

In 2015, Barcelona won their fourth UCL title, this time defeating Juventus 3-1 in the final. So, in total, Lionel Messi has won four UCL titles during his time at Barcelona. He has been the driving force behind the team’s success in Europe and his individual performances in the UCL finals have been instrumental in helping the team secure the trophy.

How many UCLs did Cristiano Ronaldo win?

Throughout his career, Cristiano Ronaldo has been a force to be reckoned with. He has notched up an impressive haul of silverware, including five Champions League trophies while playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus. He has also achieved incredible success with his national team, Portugal, and holds several individual records for goals scored. This truly remarkable athlete is a living legend of the game.

Ronaldo forward achieved an unprecedented feat by netting in two Champions League finals for different clubs, starting with an opener for Manchester United against Chelsea in 2008, and then converting a penalty in extra time during Real Madrid’s triumph over Atletico Madrid in 2014. Ronaldo notched three consecutive Champions League titles with the Spanish side between 2015 and 2018 but is yet to add a fourth to his collection.
