Weeks away from the UEFA Champions League final, Erling Haaland has again confirmed that his ringtone is still the UCL theme. In an interview during his first few days as a Manchester City player, he informed the press about it. Now, almost a year later, he has talked about it again while being one match away from achieving his dream.
While receiving the FWA Footballer of the Year Award, Haaland was quizzed about his season. He was also asked about his ringtone and he replied, “Yeah, that’s true [that I have the Champions League ringtone on my phone] and that’s also my biggest dream, [winning] the Champions League. Everyone knows it. I said in plenty of interviews about (winning) the Champions League.
So, we’ll see (over) the next weeks. Hopefully, it will be some great weeks. I will do everything I can to make it happen and the whole club wants it to happen. And if we play at our best, we will make it happen. And hopefully, that’s exactly what we will do.”
City has already clinched the English Premier League title. They will be facing Manchester United in the FA Cup final in the coming week. A week after that they will be up against Inter Milan for the UCL final.
A victory in both these finals will see them join an elite list of clubs that have won the prestigious European treble. They will join Manchester United as the only English clubs to win the treble.
Can Erling Haaland guide Manchester City to UEFA Champions League glory?
Haaland has been instrumental in City’s Premier League pursuit. In his debut season, he has broken the goalscoring record and won the Player of the Season award. He has already scored 36 goals and will have a chance to add more on Sunday, May 28, 2023, when City plays Brentford.

Haaland again tops the goalscoring chart in the UCL. He has scored 12 goals in 10 appearances. He could not score in either game against Real Madrid due to some great saves from Thibaut Courtois. However, City has enough talent and they scored 5 in two games without their main-man firing.
Inter Milan, on the other hand, will also be looking to get their hands on a trophy they last won over a decade ago. City, who have never tasted UCL success, will go up against the Serie A side on June 10, 2023.

Some of the most important matches in City’s history will be played in the next few weeks. If Erling Haaland continues his goalscoring form, he can etch his name in City history forever in just his first season.
