Ryan Reynolds, the co-owner of Wrexham AFC, was caught giving a warning to his club-record signing Ollie Palmer. Apparently, Palmer is a man who has an eye for the camera. Reynolds has warned the 31-year-old soccer player to wear a shirt when he comes to talk to the Deadpool actor’s wife, Blake Lively.
Reynolds appeared on the Fearless in Devotion podcast and he was quizzed about which of his Wrexham players loves the camera. The Hollywood star named Palmer and fellow co-owner Rob McElhenney approved the notion. McElhenney said, “Not even close,” when Reynolds took Palmer’s name.
Reynolds also narrated a story about Palmer coming to meet Lively, shirtless. Reynolds said: “Every time we’ve come as a family we’ve come over we have a walk down to the dressing room. Ollie is always the first one to walk out, completely shirtless, to have a conversation with my wife. I’m like Ollie put a f**king shirt on and come back out to speak to her like a gentleman.”

Reynolds, however, did add praise for his striker who helped his club achieve promotion.
He said, “Ollie is one of the best guys I know though, really funny, and I’m thrilled for him and his clothing brand. It’s nice to see that take off.”
Reynolds referred to Palmer’s clothing line that launched in November 2022. It is a Wrexham-inspired clothing line named WXM Clothing.
Wrexham, Hollywood’s favorite soccer club, ended its 15-year wait and has finally returned to the fourth division of the English soccer league. Ollie Palmer, among others, contributed a lot to make it happen.
Ollie Palmer was instrumental in Ryan Reynolds-owned Wrexham’s promotion
After Wrexham was bought by Reynolds and McElhenney in February 2021, they brought significant changes to the club. One of those was the club-record signing of Palmer. The English player joined Wrexham from AFC Wimbledon in January 2022. Reports suggest a deal worth £300,000 ($372,000) was reached with Wimbledon.
Paul Mullin and Ollie Palmer have played together in 15 home games, and at least one of them scored in 14 of them.
In 7 of those games, both Mullin and Palmer scored.

The striker has proven his worth by helping the club win the National League, the fifth division in English soccer. Palmer scored 16 goals in 44 appearances in the league. He formed a lethal strike partnership with Paul Mullin, who was the leading scorer for the club.
Wrexham, who dropped out of the English soccer league system in 2008, made a comeback under new ownership and is now ready to take League Two by storm. Wrexham earned 111 points out of the 46 matches in their league. They fought off competition from Notts County who came in second with a total of 107 points.
