Since moving from Lille to AC Milan, Maignan has earned many accolades and a great reputation. The 28-year-old is now the first-choice goalkeeper of the French National Soccer Team. Magnan has proved himself as the worthy successor to France’s long-standing goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.
In his first season in the Italian Serie A, he lifted the scudetto with Milan. The title win was also very historic as it was the Rossoneri’s first Serie A title victory in over 10 years. The French National Team’s great form in recent months owes a lot of credit to Maignan’s astuteness at the back.

While his prowess with gloves in his hands is well-known, it is the skills with his feet that are earning him applause from the fans. Maignan recently became the only player in Europe’s top five leagues to assist a goal in each of the last three seasons, a truly remarkable feat.
Mike Maignan spotted the well-timed run of clubmate Christian Pulisic to give a perfect long ball. The American then applied the finish to score AC Milan’s second goal against Frosinone. This gave Milan a 3-1 win in the Serie A game held on December 3, 2022.
