Angel Correa joined a long list of unlucky soccer players who have been robbed in the last few years. The Argentine striker was reportedly robbed at gunpoint by four masked thieves in his home in Madrid.
As per Spain’s Cadena Cope radio station, Correa was robbed by four gunmen who barged into his house around 9 PM on January 13. The group threatened Correa and his family and demanded all the jewelry and cash in the house.
As expected, Correa agreed to the demands of the gunman to save his family from any harm. Thankfully, after receiving the jewels and cash, the robbers moved on from the house. No family members of Angel Correa were injured in the incident.

The striker reported the case to the local police, who have started their investigation into the case. The week has been heavy on the player, who returned from Saudi Arabia on January 11. Correa suffered a loss to Real Madrid in the midweek in the Spanish Super Cup semifinal.

The Argentine forward has been keen to move from Spain for a big money move to Saudi Arabia. The forward joined the Madrid-based side back in 2015. Since then, he has made 397 appearances for Diego Simeone‘s side. During his stint, he has scored 74 goals and 58 assists and played four different positions for the Spanish side.
As per reports, Al-Ittihad wants to bring in the striker to boost their attack. The Saudi side might need reinforcement if Karim Benzema moved on from the club on a loan deal in January. Correa represents a perfect stopgap for the Saudi side, who can reassess their options in the summer of 2024.

Correa has played 23 appearances for Atlético Madrid this season, in which he has played only 823 minutes for the Spanish side. The 28-year-old forward has lost its prominence in the Spanish side, and a move away from La Liga might benefit all parties involved.
