Cristiano Ronaldo saw his frustrations got the better of him when he kicked the ball in rage after the first-half whistle blew and received a yellow card for it. He was frustrated with the referee who blew the whistle right when Ronaldo was leading a counterattack for Al-Nassr. Fans were not happy with this act of disrespect from Ronaldo. One fan said, “Another reason to call Messi the GOAT, the only one discipline.”

However, many fans also sided with Ronaldo. They believe he still has a great passion for the game even after achieving so much.
This guy has won nearly everything in football and he’s still this hungry ? 😳

Ronaldo was representing Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr while playing in the King Cup of Champions game against Abha. He chested down a clearance from Al-Nassr’s defensive zone and had support around him. He was heading upfield with an excellent chance to pull away. However, the referee blew the whistle for halftime.
The referee cannot be blamed entirely for the incident. There were two minutes of added time at the end of the half and time had already crossed 47 minutes. So, the referee deemed it fit to blow the whistle. Ronaldo, however, deemed it fit to kick the ball downfield in rage. The referee reached into his pocket to book the Portuguese for his dissent. This follows Ronaldo’s show of anger after he faced his first league defeat against Al-Ittihad.
Cristiano Ronaldo goes three matches without a goal as Al-Nassr qualifies for cup semi-finals
Al-Nassr faced Abha in the King’s Cup quarter-finals on March 14, 2023. Ronaldo’s team earned the perfect start with a goal in the first minute. Sami Al-Najei scored the first goal of the game. He finished a move that began with a Ronaldo back heel from kickoff. Al-Nassr needed a quick start to help them forget their blues from the weekend. They lost to Al-Ittihad 1-0 and also lost their top spot.
In the 21st minute, Al-Khaibari got on the scoresheet. He scored with a clinical first-time finish to double the lead. Abha, who were not looking like they were going to have much of a say in the game, lost all hopes of a comeback when Mohammad Maran scored from a tight angle to give Al-Nassr a three-goal cushion.

Abha, however, did score a consolation goal with Abdulfattah Adam getting on the scoresheet. Adam is on loan from Al Nassr but there is no rule stopping him from playing against his parent club. Adam fired home after the Al-Nassr goalkeeper parried a shot to his feet.
This was the third game running where Ronaldo was not involved in any goals. He was involved in 10 out of the 10 previous goals scored by Al-Nassr. However, it seems like the Portuguese star has lost his touch since the game against Al-Batin.
