Serial winner Carlo Ancelotti has been tipped to become the next manager of Brazil.
The South American giants were heavily favored as a force to be reckoned with, heading into the World Cup of 2022. Brazil had a fine showing for the time that they were in contention at the World Cup. The team conceded just twice, once in a 1-0 defeat against Cameroon in the Group Stage, and the other in a 4-1 victory against underdogs South Korea.

A fine performance of a well-balanced team, packed with talent, however, came to an abrupt end as 2018 runners-up Croatia knocked Brazil out of the World Cup.
During the game, Brazil was far superior in terms of attacking the Croatian goal. But a classy defensive performance by Croatia took the game beyond the conventional 90 minutes and into extra time. When the deadlock could not be resolved even after an additional 30 minutes of play, the game progressed to the penalty shootouts where Croatia triumphed.
61-year-old Adenor Leonardo Bacchi, better known as Tite, was the head coach of this Brazilian side heading into the World Cup. This was going to be Tite’s last dance with the national team, though, with the Brazilian announcing earlier this year that he would step down as head coach of the national side after the World Cup.
Keeping this in mind, the Brazilian FA was actively looking for his replacement even before the squad jetted off to Qatar.

Having managed teams in a lot of countries, Ancelotti has managed some of the biggest European clubs including Chelsea, Juventus, PSG, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid.

As per reports, Brazil held preliminary talks with Ancelotti before the World Cup. In response, he has reportedly told them that he would only be interested in talks when he sees the current season off with Real Madrid and when the position of head coach in the Brazil national side was vacant.
Should the Italian tactician accept the Brazil job, it would only be the 4th time that a non-Brazilian coach would be managing the national side and the first one since 1965.

At City, Pep Guardiola has signed a contract extension that will keep him employed in the Blue half of Manchester till 2025.
