Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet is one of the strictest in the soccer world. Ronaldo is known for the fitness standards that he has set over the years. Although the Portuguese star is 38 now, his body is still in its prime physique. However, the diet and the exercise regime that Ronaldo has maintained are not at all easy to follow. Moreover, a professional soccer player even had a near-death experience while trying to follow Ronaldo’s diet.
Brazilian soccer star, Gabriel Menino, who plays for the Brazilian club Palmeiras, recently narrated an incident from his past. According to MARCA, Menino once tried to follow Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet, so that he can regain his fitness. Menino wanted to look like the Al-Nassr star and thus tried to follow in the footsteps of Ronaldo. Thus, Menino started to follow the diet routine.
The Palmeiras star had an egg and supplements for breakfast, followed by some more supplements before training, as well as in the afternoon and before bedtime. For lunch and dinner, Menino ate grilled fish or meat and salad. However, the diet had a completely contrasting effect on Menino. When Menino was called up for a game the following day, he felt that he was going to die.

“I wanted to lose weight a bit and gain more muscle. I spoke to the nutritionist & said I wanted to go on Cristiano’s diet. On the second day of following the diet, I ran for five minutes after which I fell and was going to die from this diet.” pic.twitter.com/XiV48K8llr

Menino said, “I was warming up and all I could think was ‘I’m going to die’. Five minutes into the game I couldn’t run anymore, I needed to be substituted.” Menino’s condition only improved when he had some isotonic drinks and applied some cooling gel.
What did Patrice Evra say about Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet?
Cristiano Ronaldo is very particular with his diet. Ronaldo has frequently shown his dislike for sugary drinks. During a press conference at the Euro 2020, Ronaldo replaced a few bottles of Coca-Cola with some bottles of water. The Al-Nassr star has also previously said that he gets “p*ssed off” when his son, Cristiano Ronaldo Junior, drinks crisps, fries, and Coca-Cola.
Finally, pick a product that helps people. In June 2021, Ronaldo removed two bottles of Coca-Cola from his press conference table at the European Championship and encouraged people to drink water instead. Coca-Cola’s market value dropped by around $4 billion because of this. pic.twitter.com/diY354tYqA

Patrice Evra, a former teammate of Ronaldo at Manchester United, also once talked about Cristiano Ronaldo’s diet. Evra jokingly said that one should never accept a lunch invitation at the former Real Madrid star’s house. Evra explained, “He said, ‘Patrice, come over after training.’ I went. You know I was really tired, [and] at the table there was only salad and plain white chicken so I was like, okay – and water – not any juice. “

“And we started eating and I was thinking some big meat would be coming after that but there was nothing,” he continued. “He just finished and he stood up and he started playing with a ball, doing some skills and he said, ‘Let’s do some two-touch.” This incident shows the insanely competitive and discipline nature of Cristiano Ronaldo. However, this is the reason that despite being 38, Ronaldo is still showing no signs of stopping.
Ronaldo has often expressed his desire of playing beyond his 40s. The Portuguese captain also stated that he will play in the Euro 2024 for Portugal. After the World Cup debacle in Qatar, Ronaldo’s hunt for another silverware with his national team hasn’t ended yet. At the club level, despite moving to a new club and a new league in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo has already notched up 8 goals in just 5 matches for Al-Nassr.
