Cristiano Ronaldo bowed out of Europe’s elite after a transfer to Al-Nassr late last year. The Portuguese shocked the whole world with a move that was an eventuality considering his age. His move to the Middle East put an end to the glorious European career of the former Real Madrid man.
Ronaldo has so far witnessed his ups and downs in the Saudi Pro League as he has been subject to some controversial incidents and also won the Player of the Month award for February.
But his age seems to be catching up with him as he had to leave the training recently due to muscle fatigue. Ronaldo was asked to leave the Al-Nassr training by the new coach, Dinko Jeličić, as a precautionary measure.

Al-Nassr heads into the business end of the season as they are currently in the 2nd spot of the SPL table. They are only 3 points behind the league leaders, Al-Ittihad, and would want to catch up with them soon.
The Riyadh-based club would want their star man fit and ready for their clash against Al-Khaleej on Monday. But the recent training injury has put clouds of doubt over the Portuguese’s involvement in the fixture.
Ronaldo has been seen as the epitome of fitness throughout his career. One of the reasons for the longevity of his brilliance is the extreme fitness of the 38-year-old. But it now seems like the end of his career is near as age is catching up with him.
Al-Nassr to line up star striker alongside Cristiano Ronaldo
Al-Nassr made a major statement move with Ronaldo’s signing by offering him a record contract. But it seems like they aren’t done with their pursuits of stars as they are going into the market to sign Edinson Cavani this summer.

They would want to put the Uruguayan alongside Ronaldo to form an incredible front duo to lead their attack. Cavani has played alongside Ronaldo at their previous club, Manchester United. Even though they couldn’t play together on the field many times, they would want to do it with Al-Nassr.
Cavani is currently undergoing a miserable run of form with Spanish club, Valencia. He would want to get back to his best alongside Ronaldo if he signs for Al-Nassr. This would be another statement signing for Saudi as they look to make a place on the world soccer map.
Al-Nassr previously were in talks to sign Ronaldo’s other former teammate, Marcelo. Saudi clubs are turning on the heat in the transfer market this season as they look to attract big names such as Lionel Messi and Roberto Firmino.
