Cristiano Ronaldo has claimed that he is at Al-Nassr to face a new challenge. Contrary to the claims of many who believe Ronaldo signed for Al-Nassr just to earn the enormous amount of money they are offering, the Portuguese has said that he is in Saudi Arabia to win.
During his first press conference as an Al-Nassr player, Ronaldo said, “In Europe, my work is done; I won everything, I played at the most important clubs in Europe and for me now, it’s a new challenge.”
As of now, two titles are possible for Al-Nassr and Ronaldo to claim. Firstly, the Saudi Pro League. Al-Nassr claims the top spot in the league right now. They have notched up 34 points in 15 matches. Just behind them on goal difference is Al-Shabab, also with 34 points. However, Al-Shabab has played an extra match. Third, it is Al-Ittihad with the same number of points and matches as Al-Nassr but behind on goal difference.
Secondly, Al-Nassr is still competing in the King Cup of Champions. They will play the quarter-final on March 14, 2023, against Abha.
On the other hand, Al-Nassr crashed out of the Saudi Super Cup semi-final a few days ago. Al-Ittihad defeated Al-Nassr with a scoreline of 3-1. Unfortunately, for Ronaldo, his manager, Rudi Garcia, blamed his miss for the team’s loss. He said, “Cristiano Ronaldo missed a chance that would have changed the course of the game in the first half, but I congratulate Al-Ittihad.”
