However, now according to ESPN, former Brazil international Dani Alves admitted for the first time to news agency EFE that he was intoxicated that evening when he was accused of committing sexual assault. Since his arrest in January on suspicion of sexually assaulting a lady in a Barcelona nightclub on December 30, 2022, Alves has altered his story five times.

Alves returned to Mexico via plane and joined Pumas, his current team after the official accusation was filed. Alves then addressed the allegations. He declared, “First of all, I would like to deny everything. I was there with my people. Enjoying. And everybody that knows me knows that I love dancing. I was dancing and enjoying my time without invading the space of others.“
