Victoria wrote, “Dress down, David had said. I knew all the other wives would be in their Away-Day-best-first England match in Euro 2000 and all that.” She also wrote about how David had advised Victoria to bring along her father and a bodyguard to the stadium.
Victoria continued about how even though several spouses of the then-England soccer players were not present in the stadium, she was the one who was scrutinized.
Victoria wrote, “It was the Friday before that the Daily Mail found out my name wasn’t on the list and said I was snubbing the other England wives and girlfriends by not going…They were talking as if my going would make the difference as to whether England won or lost. Phil Neville’s wife wasn’t going, nor Gary Neville’s girlfriend.“

Victoria also talked about her difficult experience in a soccer stadium when she was abused by the fans. To make matters worse, Victoria’s mother was also present in the stadium. Victoria also explained that even though David Beckham liked Victoria’s presence in the stadium during his matches, she would rather watch the match at her home on television.
