David de Gea teases Manchester United fans with an update on Instagram. The Spanish goalkeeper is still without a club after leaving Manchester United in the summer. Some sections of the fans are keen to bring him back amidst the ongoing struggles of his replacement, Andre Onana.
David de Gea uploaded an Instagram story with a location tag that read Manchester. The Spanish goalkeeper announced to his fans that he is back in Manchester.
It isn’t reported whether the return is due to any potential move or just a simple visit, however, the fans are buzzing to see him back, to the point, that few are speculating that the English club will move for him in the upcoming winter transfer window.

It was earlier reported that former teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo, lured him to a move to Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia. However, David de Gea refused the move in order to stay with his wife in Europe.
Al-Nassr already has three goalkeepers in its ranks including David Ospina, Nawaf Al-Aqidi, and Raghed Al-Najjar which made the matter more complicated.
🚨 Cristiano Ronaldo has been attempting to persuade former Manchester United team-mate David De Gea to join him at Al-Nassr but the Spaniard would prefer to stay in Europe.

Another big factor for David de Gea to stay in Europe is the fact he recently got married to Edurne Almagro in July 2023. The couple has decided to settle in Spain after spending several years in Manchester.
No club in Spain approached for the goalkeeper, which means he is still a free agent. It will be interesting to see if he would be open to moving back to United for a short stint to give competition to current goalkeeper, Andre Onana.
Andre Onana’s stats at Manchester United
Onana joined Manchester United from Inter Milan after a successful season for the Serie A side. He was a standout performer for the Italian club on their run to the UEFA Champions League final.
However, he is off to a bad start at Manchester United. In the new season, he has played 11 games in all competitions for the English club and has already conceded 19 goals. He has kept only two clean sheets in the process.
Ok, I am going to say it. I don’t think the goal Man Utd conceded was Onana’s fault…🧤 #GKUnion pic.twitter.com/Y3jJP6hbGr

It is not always the responsibility of the goalkeeper to keep out the goals as a defense is a team effort, however, the Cameroon international has made some heavy mistake in the Premier League and UCL that has led to goals. All the early errors have frustrated the fans of the club, who are questioning the inclusion of the keeper in the squad at the expense of experienced David de Gea.
David de Gea was the golden glove winner last season for keeping the most clean sheets in the league, however, manager, Erik ten Hag wanted someone who is comfortable on the ball for building up the play from defense. The harsh decision to let David de Gea leave is coming back to haunt Erik ten Hag after the early showing of Onana.
All eyes will be on the Dutch boss to see if he brings back the Spanish goalkeeper in the upcoming winter transfer window. Manchester United won’t be the first team in the league that will have two keepers fighting it out for the starting place.
