Inter Milan is closing in on the signing of Dutch midfielder Davy Klaassen. Fabrizio Romano reports that Inter and Ajax are in the process of finalizing contracts for Klaassen.
Klaassen has already arrived in Milan and is set to undergo medical tests in the coming hours. His original contract with Ajax was set to run until 2024, but his agent successfully negotiated an early release, reflecting their positive relationship, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Upon his return to Ajax in 2020 from Werder Bremen, Klaassen inked a four-year deal worth $68,000 per week, equivalent to $3.5 million per season.
While the exact terms of his contract with Inter Milan remain undisclosed, a clearer understanding of his wages should emerge once the deal is officially signed.
Klaassen, a seasoned attacking midfielder, boasts an impressive track record, with 321 appearances for Ajax, contributing 93 goals and 50 assists. In the previous season, he featured in 46 matches across all competitions, tallying 10 goals and three assists. At 30 years old, his arrival is expected to bolster Inter Milan’s squad with both depth and valuable experience.
Davy Klaassen is poised to become the 14th summer signing for Inter Milan
Inter Milan’s summer transfer spree is showing no signs of slowing down, with Davy Klaassen set to become the 14th addition to their squad during this transfer window.
Their recruitment strategy has seen them make several astute moves. Firstly, they’ve secured the services of four players on free transfers: Raffaele Di Gennaro, Alexis Sánchez, Juan Cuadrado, and Marcus Thuram.
In addition to these signings, four players have been brought in on season-long loan deals: Davide Frattesi, Carlos Augusto, Emil Audero, and Marko Arnautovic.

But Inter’s ambitions don’t stop there. They’ve already finalized permanent deals for Yann Sommer and Benjamin Pavard from Bayern Munich, Francesco Acerbi from Lazio, Yann Bisseck from Aarhus GF, and Kristjan Asllani, a defensive midfielder from FC Empoli.
Simone Inzaghi’s side has substantially bolstered both the experience and quality of their squad within a single transfer window. This remarkable transformation comes at a combined cost of $70 million, highlighting that teams can still enhance their squad’s depth and quality without resorting to the extravagant spending seen among Premier League giants.
Inter Milan, who reached the UEFA Champions League final last season and finished third in Serie A, are clearly making significant investments to bolster their squad for the upcoming campaign. They would look to challenge for every title this season while replicating their last year’s performances in the Champions League.
