Did Eminem really call Cristiano Ronaldo the most hated person in soccer

Did Eminem really call Cristiano Ronaldo the most hated person in soccer?

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the biggest names in the soccer world. While millions of fans love the Portuguese magician, some fans dislike him. Ronaldo has always been a controversial figure in soccer. However, recently, there’s a claim making rounds on the Internet that Eminem has branded Cristiano Ronaldo as “the most hated person” in soccer.

Soon after Lionel Messi won the FIFA Best Player of the Year award a couple of weeks ago, many fans started trolling Ronaldo. The last year was tough for Ronaldo, especially with a disappointing World Cup 2022. Before the World Cup, Ronaldo controversially left his former club, Manchester United. Currently, Ronaldo has left Europe to play for the Saudi Arabian club, Al-Nassr.

This series of events led to fans making jokes at the expense of Ronaldo. However, some fans have started posting American rapper Eminem’s quote on Ronaldo, where he says, “Always the best in the world becomes the most hated person in the world, it happens with me in music and with Cristiano Ronaldo in football.” Eminem, who is one of the most successful rappers in the world, has a controversial reputation in the music industry.

Although, while Eminem’s statement about Ronaldo has gone viral, many fans have questioned the source of this quote. A Cristiano Ronaldo fan account on Twitter, who goes by the name @CristianoXtra, first posted this quote. However, no credible source or article has ever published this quote from Eminem. Therefore, unfortunately for Ronaldo fans, Eminem’s quote on the Al-Nassr star does look fake.

Is Cristiano Ronaldo the most hated person in soccer?

Cristiano Ronaldo’s popularity is a double-edged sword. While some fans adore Ronaldo’s both on and off-the-pitch behavior, many fans despise him for the same. However, to state that Cristiano Ronaldo is the most hated person in soccer seems like an exaggeration. It is true that throughout his career, Ronaldo has been embroiled in a lot of controversies.

The first instance of controversy in Ronaldo’s career came in the 2006 World Cup. During the quarterfinal match between England and Portugal, Ronaldo was accused of playacting in an attempt to expel the England star, Wayne Rooney. Rooney, who was Ronaldo’s teammate at Manchester United, had stamped on Portugal’s Ricardo Carvalho. Ronaldo desperately argued with the referee to show Rooney the red card for the foul.

After the referee sent off Rooney, Ronaldo gave a cheeky wink which was caught on camera. For some time after this incident, Ronaldo became a hated figure in England. In addition to this, Ronaldo is also disliked by many for his on-the-pitch behaviors and celebrations which are considered to be obnoxious by many. The former Real Madrid star was also accused of rape a few years back but was later acquitted of all charges.

However, despite the polarizing nature of Cristiano Ronaldo, there’s no denying that he is one of the greatest soccer players of all time. Interestingly, in a recent study by ChatGPT, Cristiano Ronaldo was ranked as the second-most loved soccer star of all time. The soccer star who beat Ronaldo to the first position was none other than Lionel Messi.
