Former Spanish referee Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez’s shocking confession about Real Madrid has been making the rounds on the Internet recently. Over the last couple of days, Real Madrid’s arch-rival FC Barcelona has been charged with allegations of corruption and bribery. However, Gonzalez’s admission about Real Madrid has painted a completely different picture.
As reported by Cadena SER, Iturralde Gonzalez revealed how Real Madrid had used its power to veto the former from officiating in the 2014 Copa Del Rey final when Real Madrid faced FC Barcelona. Gonzalez’s accusation stems from the fact that the ex-referee has some history with Real Madrid. Iturralde has been often accused of being biased against Real Madrid.

Iturralde had also revealed that after a Real Madrid-Deportivo clash, Madrid president Florentino Perez had accused him of favoring Barcelona. In addition to this, Iturralde also admitted that he was unhappy with how Real Madrid had behaved when FC Barcelona was accused of bribery earlier this year. Sevilla FC stages protest against FC Barcelona over bribery charges
In the meantime, Sevilla FC has staged a protest against FC Barcelona over the recent bribery charges. During last night’s 1-0 La Liga defeat against FC Barcelona, Sevilla boycotted the match and refused to be present at the Montjuic stadium, as per the normal protocols. The club released a statement in which they stated that they were outraged at the alleged actions of FC Barcelona.

In retaliation, FC Barcelona also released a press release of their own condemning Sevilla’s actions. Barca considers Sevilla’s statement to be inappropriate and “an attack against the Catalan institution“. They further termed Sevilla’s statement to be illogical as it denied Barca an opportunity to legally defend itself. Last but not least, Barca also stated that they consider all relations with Sevilla to be broken until the latter rectifies its position.
