The YouTube star IShowSpeed has often been spotted trying to learn different languages during his online streams. He once also did a language challenge-type course in one of his live streams on the social platform. The internet icon is a massive follower of the Portugal soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo.
Interestingly Speed himself was seen attempting a hand in speaking the Portuguese language during a YouTube podcast going by the name of ‘FULLSEND PODCAST’. The 18-year-old spoke a couple of sentences which he later claimed was in Portuguese dialect. However, the other members of the podcast seemed confused. They didn’t understand a single word that Speed spoke.
The American youngster has previously claimed that during his childhood he was in Portugal. However, no concrete reports in the public domain state that he can speak fluent Portuguese. However, the social media icon can give it a try as he has been spotted attempting to speak the language on a few occasions.

IShowSpeed met two Portugal international soccer players, Bernardo Silva and Ruben Dias, during his visit to the previous Ballon d’Or ceremony in Paris, France. When the youngster was greeting the two players, he expressed that he is himself from Portugal. “No, I am from Portugal, I was born and raised in Portugal”, Speed stated.
The streamer further mentioned – “when I was two I came to Portugal”. Then Portugal’s star midfielder Bernardo Silva reportedly urged Speed to speak some Portuguese. The social media icon did try to speak a quick sentence in the Portuguese language. But, Bernardo’s mate Ruben Dias didn’t seem too impressed with Speed’s attempt of speaking the language.
Ruben Dias kind of tilted the palms of his hand up in the air. By his expression, the defender conveyed that Speed did fail in his Portuguese dialect’s skill test. The online streamer himself seemed a bit embarrassed by the whole situation. However, he kept his conversation with both the players going.
Despite his failure to impress the two players, Speed went on to meet several other players in the award ceremony. He kept on trying to interact with different stars present there in his way. It remains to be seen if shortly fans will get another sneak peek into the YouTuber’s Portuguese language speaking skills.
