Liverpool humiliated Manchester United at Anfield and it was certainly better than what they were hoping for. The game ended 7-0 to the hosts after a disappointing and lackluster performance from Erik ten Hag’s men. Liverpool managed to emerge victorious after braces from Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Mohamed Salah as well. Roberto Firmino topped it off with an 88th-minute goal at the end.

It certainly is not a good look for Erik ten Hag’s men. The Red Devils were having a decent season after winning the Carabao Cup a few days ago and hopes were high. Part of the soccer world even believed that United could complete the league double against Liverpool tonight. However, ten Hag’s system of playing Wout Weghorst as a midfielder did not work against Jurgen Klopp’s system.
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag’s comments go horribly wrong after a humiliating loss
Before the game, the Dutch manager pointed out that Anfield was just another stadium. It is no secret that Liverpool has the fans to thank for many of their sensational comebacks and wins at Anfield. There have been quite a few managers to even claim that the Merseyside stadium was a “fortress.” This includes former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who claimed that Anfield was a special place.

The history and culture of the arena didn’t seem to bother ten Hag too much. Before the game, the former Ajax boss seemed to take a dig at how fans claimed United could lose. It has not aged well at all for ten Hag as Liverpool just got the better of United tonight.
Cristiano Ronaldo‘s name has been brought up often this season, as some fans seem to believe United is performing better without the 5x Ballon d’Or winner. Piers Morgan doesn’t seem to share the same opinion and was one of the first to call out the United board after Ronaldo’s contract termination. Following the game, Morgan took to Twitter to mock ten Hag, Lisandro Martinez, and Antony.
Don’t think we’ll be seeing any dancing tonight. pic.twitter.com/dtigwf1SSC

For those who don’t know, ten Hag pulled out the moves following United’s Carabao Cup win at Wembley a few days ago. It was the move that he did with his Ajax players, Martinez and Antony when they were in the Netherlands. Morgan tweeted, “Don’t think we’ll be seeing any dancing tonight,” reacting to ten Hag’s comment when he said he could perform the dance move often.
This is a direct jibe at Erik ten Hag, as Morgan continues to take a shot at the Manchester United management. He often reiterates that he is a huge fan of Ronaldo, which explains why his departure didn’t go down too well with the broadcaster. It would be safe for us to assume that he doesn’t stop anytime soon, especially if the Red Devils suffered a string of losses in the coming days.
