Recently, we heard that David de Gea is set to return to action in European soccer. But this news has been extinguished by the Newcastle United boss, Eddie Howe. His single statement has had de Gea fans in shock as they won’t be seeing their favorite player play yet.
On the reports coming about de Gea joining Newcastle United, Eddie Howe explained the situation as follows, “We have not made any enquiries despite links”. Claims that even though Newcastle United need a goalkeeper currently with Nick Pope being injured for a few months, they still haven’t made any form of inquiries to any player yet.

He further added the belief in his current options by saying, “We really believe in Martin Dubravka — I’ve always had that high opinion of him. Martin is a high class goalkeeper”. Stating even though Dubravka isn’t the Geordies’ top pick he still is a backup player for their star keeper’s injuries.
Eddie Howe with such comments proved how vital such backup positions are. He has shown his belief towards the Serbian keeper that why he has been sitting on the bench, and he is the one to be called upon during emergency times of the team.
Having been provided with this opportunity, Dubravka will be looking to solidify his place within the Geordies’ squad. Earning this opportunity with top performances, the Serbian can seal his place among the passionate fans, as well as can also move above Nick Pope in the pecking order.
For Newcastle, the focus now shifts towards building on their impressive start to the season. Howe’s pragmatism has paid off, and the Magpies are reaping the rewards. With a strong foundation in place, they can continue to solidify their place among the league’s elite.
Letting David de Gea leave Manchester United was a big mistake
David de Gea left Manchester United after being employed with the Red Devils for 12 long years. Since his departure, some believe Manchester United is already missing the 4-time Sir Matt Busby Player of the Season award winner.
In the replacement for the Spaniard, Manchester United went out to buy the Cameroonian, Andre Onana. During the opening stages of the season, it is to be seen that Andre Onana isn’t having a comfortable life along the nets of the Red Devils.
Since his arrival, Andre Onana has already let in 34 goals in just 21 matches played across all competitions. With such a record, he has also had several goalkeeping blunders along the way as well. Holding such statistics several debates have popped up stating fans already miss David de Gea.
David de Gea was replaced by Erik ten Hag because of his inability to play well with the ball. Some believe that even though Onana is good with the ball his shot-stopping ability isn’t very good which they consider to be a priority of any goalkeeper.
David de Gea is known to be one of the best goalkeepers in terms of shot-stopping because of which he has earned several honors in the name of it. He went on to earn 4x Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year, 4x Man Utd Players’ Player of the Year, 5x PFA Team of the Year, 1x FIFA FIFPro World 11, and 2x PL Golden Glove winner.
Showcasing such outstanding stats and honors most feel letting him go being a free agent was a massive mistake made by Erik ten Hag and Manchester United
