Erling Haaland’s previous deal with Nike expired in January last year. Nike’s rivals in the soccer boot industry, Adidas and Puma, were desperate to sign the 22-year-old striker. Since his deal expired, Haaland was seen wearing the boots of all three companies- Nike, Adidas, and Puma. As per GOAL, on Haaland’s debut match for Manchester City in the pre-season, he was wearing the Adidas X SPEEDPORTAL boots.
Haaland was also seen sporting the Nike Mercurial Vapor 14 on his Premier League debut for City. However, according to The Athletic, Erling Haaland seems to have finally made up his mind. Haaland’s new deal with Nike will bring him a massive $24 million annually. Haaland’s deal with Nike will see him earn almost $8 million more than his rival, Kylian Mbappe, who is also tied to Nike.
How much is Erling Haaland’s current shoe deal worth?
Erling Haaland was initially signed by the American giants, Nike, at the age of 14. Haaland’s previous deal with Nike paid the Norwegian star approximately $1 million annually. However, after his deal expired in 2022, Adidas was reported to be in a pole position to sign a deal with Haaland. However, as per reports, the deal broke down since Adidas refused to meet Haaland’s demand of a $53 million deal for 5 years.
Haaland also rejected Puma’s estimated $8.5 million deal. Instead, he has finally decided to re-sign with Nike, settling for $24 million annually. However, the duration of the contract is not yet known. Although, if Haaland did decide to go forward with Adidas, it would have given the soccer world a new rivalry like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi had over the years.
PSG star Kylian Mbappe is also sponsored by Nike. The French World Cup winner has a 10-year deal, which earns him about $16 million annually. With both Haaland and Mbappe signing with Nike, soccer fans wouldn’t get to witness another Adidas versus Nike rivalry. Previously, Ronaldo was considered to be the face of Nike. Meanwhile, Messi left Nike in 2006 and became the poster boy for Nike’s rivals, Adidas.
How much money does Erling Haaland make per year?

Although Erling Haaland did sign with Nike, over the past few years, many soccer stars have left Nike to sign with other brands. While players like Kylian Mbappe and Cristiano Ronaldo are still with Nike, soccer stars such as Neymar, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Ramos, and many more have made their exits from the American brand. While the reason for the exit may be commercial or personal, Nike has lost a lot of high-profile stars over the years.
