In shocking news for Premier League fans in general and Manchester City fans in particular, Erling Haaland’s agent has recently said that the Norwegian might be on his way to FC Barcelona. Rafaela Pimenta, Haaland’s agent recently talked about her relationship with Barcelona President Joan Laporta and talked about Haaland’s transfer to the Catalan club.
Erling Haaland joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in the summer when the Premier League Champions triggered his $63 million release clause, a transfer fee that was seen as a bargain considering the way the transfer market has behaved ever since Neymar’s blockbuster $263 million move from FC Barcelona to PSG.
FC Barcelona has been in a bit of a clumsy situation regarding their transfers with the amount of debt they have incurred. The Catalan club had to activate several levers in the last summer transfer window while also releasing players. The notable signings they made were Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha, and Jules Kounde while they also signed Thomas Kessie, Marcos Alonso, and Andres Christensen on free transfers.

Erling Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm ever since he joined the Manchester club and has already bagged 25 goals at the halfway mark outscoring Golden Boot winners of the last 4 seasons and is on his way to smashing the record for the most goals in a PL season in his debut season in England.
Erling Haaland’s agent on a potential move to FC Barcelona
Haaland’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, who took over the business of Mino Raiola after his death and now represents Haaland and Paul Pogba, hinted towards her good relationship with FCB President, Joan Laporta, and the Barcelona fans haven’t stopped talking about the transfer ever since.
While talking to AS she said: “I always say that Laporta can’t ask me for anything in football. It’s not fair, because he knows I’m going to say ‘yes’.”

Haaland has a clause in his contract with Man City that allows him to leave the club for any club outside the Premier League in 2024 but the release clause for such a transfer would be a whopping $218 million which FC Barcelona cannot afford at the moment with the La Liga asking them to shave their wage bill to make transfers next season.
It has to be seen if FC Barcelona manages to raise the funds for a blockbuster move for Erling Haaland and will be very interesting to see what Haaland’s agent would do in such a scenario now that she has already talked about her relationship with Joan Laporta.
