Cristiano Ronaldo has been known for his immense fitness and commitment to hard work and training throughout his career. The Portuguese is regarded as a player who worked hard on his way to the peak of the game but in surprising news, it has been stated by the personal trainer of Karim Benzema that the French man is a hard worker than the Portuguese.
The latest Ballon d’Or winner is currently nursing an injury after being subbed off in Real Madrid’s match against Valencia but his manager Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that the injury isn’t something to be concerned about and is a minor issue.
The surprising news of Benzema training harder than Ronaldo has been stated by Benzema’s personal trainer, Javier Atalaya. Atalaya who has previously worked with Cristiano as well was talking to Radio Marca where he talked about how even Cristiano couldn’t stand Benzema’s training schedule.

He said: “The Frenchman’s mentality involves improving every day. Even Cristiano could not stand the training that Benzema does”
He further talked about how the France team mishandled Benzema’s injury during the World Cup as the Real Madrid striker was ruled out of the World Cup just before the start of the premier event. The French lost the final to Argentina but Benzema’s trainer believes that he could have been a part of the tournament had France not mishandled him.
He said: “You cannot put a player who has just returned from an injury, and after an 8-hour trip, to train 100% in a weight room.”
Benzema who was playing under the shadow of his star teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale had his peak season last year as the Frenchman won his first ever Ballon d’Or and now this news about his training regime explains how the 35-year-old took his game to another level.
Karim Benzema’s training regimen
Being a soccer player at the highest level demands extreme sacrifices and hard work and not everybody can make it to the top just on basis of their talent, you have to work hard to maintain your physique, stamina, and endurance to keep continuing at the highest level.
Benzema follows a strict training schedule where in he mixes strength training, plyometrics, core, and on-field drills. Real Madrid’s Youtube channel showcases the types of exercises their players and particularly Benzema do and it has been noticed that a lot of focus is on the plyometric to build muscle power through different exercises.
Benzema spends a considerable amount of time inside the gym while outside the gym he goes on doing drills like rondos, dribbling, passing, and shooting. It is very interesting to know how hard Benzema trains considering the Frenchman is 35 years old. But to shine at this age like Benzema did last year requires a lot of hard work which he is surely putting in.
