It is reported that since his charges have been dropped, Greenwood is desperate to return to first-team soccer at Manchester United. He wants to return as quickly as possible in order to rebuild his career. The 21-year-old was a fan favorite at United but his situation has obviously seen him fall down the pecking order. There are also reports that claim some of the United’s women’s team members oppose the possibility of this.
Natalie Burrell, the founder of the United Women’s Supporters’ Club, said this about Greenwood returning.
“United need to make a statement and letting him back would be the worst thing they could do. I don’t want to see him training, in a kit, or coming out at Old Trafford again. And I’m confident they won’t (let him).”
Greenwood came through United’s youth system and became one of the most lethal finishers on the team. He has made 83 appearances for United in the Premier League and scored 22 goals while assisting four.

Greenwood remains frozen out of his club but still collects his £75,000 ($89,600)-per-week salary as per his contract. His contract is set to run for two more years until the end of the 2024/25 campaign. The Englishman last appeared in a soccer match against West Ham United on January 22, 2022.
While United conducts its own investigation, the club’s squad is said to be divided over the decision. There is no unanimity on whether or not Greenwood should be allowed to return. Some members of the squad are okay with the former academy starlet returning, however, some are not.
