Marcus Rashford has had a very tough season for Manchester United 23/24. His disappointing statistics have massively let down his club and made the United fans worried too.
Apart from the poor performances on the pitch, the fans have also questioned the 26-year-old’s commitment and passion for the 20-time English champions. Many of them also believe that Marcus Rashford isn’t serious about his soccer career and is pathetic.
🗣️ Garth Crooks: “Rashford would be the best player in the world if he had Bruno Ferrnandes’ appetite and attitude towards the game.
He should be doing for Manchester United what Mbappé is doing for PSG right now, but somehow he seems to have lost the heart for the battle.” pic.twitter.com/N8bfyIr3ah

English soccer pundit Garth Crooks is one such person who doesn’t think that Marcus Rashford has the willpower to play in the Premier League. In doing so, he compared the 26-year-old with his club teammate Bruno Fernandes, who Crook believes is a very hungry player.
The former Manchester United player said, “Rashford would be the best player in the world if he had Bruno Ferrnandes’ appetite and attitude towards the game.” The 66-year-old believes that it is Marcus Rashford’s poor mentality that is holding him back from being the world’s best player.
Crook is a player with plenty of Premier League pedigree having played for the likes of Stoke City, Tottenham Hotspur, West Brom, etc. He also joined Manchester United on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in 1983.
Garth Crooks also thinks that Marcus Rashford should learn from Kylian Mbappe who has become the leader of the Paris Saint Germain locker room at such a young age. He said, “He should be doing for Manchester United what Mbappé is doing for PSG right now, but somehow he seems to have lost the heart for the battle.” Garth believes Marcus could’ve reached Kylian’s level with a proper work ethic.
Marcus Rashford has had a troubling 23/24 season
The Englishman has never had an easy time being a Manchester United player. The 26-year-old has been caught with both his on and off-field issues. The 23/24 season has been nothing dissimilar, as the player’s indiscipline and lack of commitment to Manchester United came forth once more.
The 26-year-old has had an abysmal 2023/24 season, where he hasn’t been able to help Manchester United at all. Marcus has scored only 8 goals and assisted a further 5 in 39 appearances for ‘The Red Devils.’ Moreover, Marcus Rashford does not show any heart and desire whilst on the pitch for Man Utd.

His off-the-field issues have also disrupted the 26-year-old’s season. In January 2024, Marcus Rashford was exposed for calling in sick while in truth he was enjoying the night out in a club in Belfast. Manchester United was very frustrated with the incident and decided to fine him and demand an apology.
Marcus’ entourage too has been pretty disrespectful of others, commenting ill about anyone who points out the player’s poor performances. Such instances have turned the Manchester United fans against Marcus Rashford, who want him out of the club.
Marcus Rashford forced to stay at Man Utd as PSG cools down its interest
And it looked like French club PSG could have been the perfect new home for Marcus Rashford. It was also reported that the 26-year-old was also very keen on moving to the French capital in the summer of 2024. Paris Saint Germain looked to cash in on the departure of Kylian Mbappe who is most probably headed for Real Madrid.
However, Paris Saint Germain has left the negotiations after knowing about Manchester United’s valuation of the 26-year-old. ‘The Red Devils’ reportedly wanted to secure a whopping £100 million ($124.5 million) for Marcus Rashford.
Reports of a £75 million ($93 million) bid were being circulated, but considering Marcus signed a new 5-year contract with Manchester United, the club is in no mood to lower the valuation. Hence, PSG too has now turned towards different targets.

A source from the French club told The Sun, “PSG have never been interested in signing Marcus.“And given his struggles on and off the pitch this season, they have given it no consideration at all. He will not be moving to PSG.” Even earlier it was revealed that the French club felt betrayed by Marcus Rashford’s repeated refusals to join PSG.
Paris Saint Germain believes that the Englishman used the interest from PSG to secure a lucrative contract from Manchester United. The French club has therefore learnt from its mistakes well and is therefore restraining from making any offers for Marcus Rashford. It would be interesting to see how the future of the 26-year-old unfolds.
