Gerard Pique and Shakira‘s breakup has been in the media for a long time. A journalist who has been at the forefront of all the news regarding the split and relationship has been Jordi Martin. He was the first person who broke the news regarding problems in Shakira and Pique’s relationship. Martin was the first to claim Pique had cheated on Shakira, and released the first pictures of him with Clara Chia Marti.
The paparazzi recently gave an interview in which he gave his side of the story. He spoke about his coverage of the whole Pique-Shakira debacle over the year. He also revealed his interactions with Gerard Pique, which he claimed were unpleasant. The interview was given to the Spanish outlet TVyNovelas.

Speaking in the interview, Martin revealed that he had been following Pique and Shakira’s relationship for a very long time. He had decided to make himself an expert in the news regarding the two. This was since they were first seen together in 2010. The two had met during the shooting of Shakira’s song ‘Waka Waka’ for the South Africa World Cup, and following this, the two were seen together in Ibiza.

Martin was present in Ibiza and has followed their relationship ever since. He also revealed that he had a non-existent relationship with the ex-Barcelona defender. He said, “The relationship was quite tense, we even came to blows, and there have been attacks on both sides. We have always had very strong disputes, he has never understood my work. And he has also been a very arrogant and impulsive guy.”
It is very likely that Martin and Pique would not be on the best of terms with each other. He even said Pique had cheated on Shakira before Clara Chia and did not understand how someone like Shakira had not seen this.

After Martin spoke about his non-existent relationship with Pique, he was asked if the Spanish defender had acted that way just with Martin. The journalist replied, “He is a guy who, when people know him, knows that he is unpleasant, classy, and treats ordinary people very badly. He is rude, almost like his father. Gerard’s mother has other more human qualities. I never understood how Shakira drooled for him.”

Whether every word Martin has said regarding Pique can be taken as the whole truth is up for debate. Martin himself had said he has a poor relationship with the player. The journalist did not say anything about Shakira throughout the interview. Pique’s children will spend Christmas with him, after which they will move to Miami with Shakira.
