Portugal‘s ship sunk after the 1-0 defeat to Morocco a couple of days ago. Cristiano Ronaldo had the lifelong dream of winning the prestigious golden trophy for his country. But it looks like he might end his career without achieving that as well.
Morocco became the first African nation to qualify for the FIFA World Cup 2022 semifinals, after a historic win against Fernando Santos’ men. Speaking of the Portuguese head coach, he seemed to have angered Ronaldo‘s girlfriend, Georgina Rodriguez, when he benched his skipper for the second game in a row. This prompted Georgina to publicly slam him on the internet.
That wasn’t the only incident that caught plenty of attention as well. After the final whistle, the entire world witnessed Ronaldo cry inconsolably.
Did Cristiano Ronaldo really cry after Portugal’s World Cup exit?
Soccer fans have claimed that Ronaldo faked his tears after Portugal crashed out of the World Cup. A Twitter user wrote, “Ronaldo laughed at the end of that crying video. He deceived us.”

If we look very minutely, it indeed seemed to be a fake cry, but anyhow emotions from within would have been definitely hurting if he is honest with himself. Well, This world cup is really exciting.

It looks like a large group of soccer fans believe that Ronaldo didn’t faked it after the game. It has come as a surprise that fans claim that he only did it to pretend like he cared about losing the World Cup. A fan has even claimed that Ronaldo was thinking about the “$200 million in front of without doin anything”. This is a reference to the whopping amount Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has reportedly offered Ronaldo.
There haven’t been any official confirmations about Ronaldo’s future as of now. Recently, the former Manchester United star mentioned that the World Cup dream was “Beautiful while it lasted” in an emotional statement. However, he did not confirm nor deny his retirement from international soccer. We would have to wait and see what the soccer legend decides.
