A former French soccer player has claimed that Kylian Mbappe is the heir of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. The most debatable topic in soccer used to be who is better between Messi and Ronaldo but times have changed and now we are looking for their heir. Former Paris Saint-Germain player, Daniel Bravo, has made his opinion known.
Bravo said to Telefoot, “he [Mbappe] is so intelligent that he knows what he needs to do to improve. So we don’t know where he can go. For me, he is the heir to Messi-Ronaldo. Today, for me, he is the best player in the world. He makes his partners better. He gives strength to the team. It scares the opponent, who is forced to retreat a little more.”

Bravo, who represented PSG from 1989 to 1996, made this bold claim after Mbappe rewrote the history books. 24-year-old Mbappe, who is already a FIFA World Cup winner, became PSG’s top scorer with his 201st goal in 247 appearances. It was his goal in added time in PSG’s 4-2 win over Nantes on Sunday, March 5, 2023.
Daniel Bravo’s prediction about Kylian Mbappe turned out to be faulty
PSG lost the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 tie 0-1 against Bayern Munich. Mbappe, however, did not play the full game. He was previously injured and fit to play only the second half of the game. After the Frenchman came on, he did make a huge difference. He put the ball in the back of the net. However, both were ruled out by VAR. Kingsley Coman scored the only goal of the game.
Bravo thought PSG lacked Mbappe’s influence in the first game. He believed PSG would make it through with Mbappe playing the full 2nd leg.
He said, “we may have regretted that he was not there from the start of PSG-Bayern. But he will be there when he returns and I think that can change everything. I’m sure Paris can qualify now because Kylian will be there.”

However, his prediction was incorrect. Even with Mbappe and Messi playing the full 90 minutes, it was not enough for PSG to find a way through Bayern’s defense. Bayern won the match comfortably 2-0. Eric Maxim Chuopo-Moting and Serge Gnabry were on target for the Bundesliga champions. This was PSG’s second straight elimination from the round of 16 of the Champions League.
Mbappe was back on the scoresheet against Ligue 1 opponents Brest. He scored the winner in the 90th minute and PSG won that encounter 1-2.
