Ronaldo Nazario de Lima, also famously known as Brazilian Ronaldo, dropped his World Cup semifinal prediction yesterday. He is one of the greatest talents to ever step foot on a soccer field. He won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil; the last one Brazil has won in recent times.
Before the tournament started, many predicted Brazil to be crowned as champions. A classic Brazil vs Argentina semi-final was on the cards but Croatia spoiled Brazil’s party and they progressed to the next stage. In the same way, a France vs Portugal semi-final was also wiped away due to exceptional Morocco performance.
The Brazilian legend said, “My prediction was always a Brazil-France final. Brazil is gone, and France right now is the big favorite. Mbappé is having a great World Cup. He has incredible physical and technical qualities. He may be the best player. He has a natural talent and at 23 years old, the experience of having won a World Cup.”
Ronaldo thinks France was lucky to come victorious out of the England game. He also suggested that England should not feel ashamed to be beaten by the World Champions. He even compared England’s loss to Brazil’s.
Ronaldo also complemented Morocco’s unbelievable journey in the tournament. Morocco beat Spain and Portugal respectively in the knock-out stages for a semi-final spot. He said he would love to see Morocco win but it will not happen. Morocco became the first African team to reach the World Cup semis. Ronaldo believes it was a great underdog story but this is where Morocco’s journey will end.
Ronaldo gives a brutal reality check to Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi is playing his final World Cup with Argentina. A World Cup is the only trophy that has eluded the great Argentine for years. Ronaldo, however, did not back up his arch-rival Argentina for the trophy. He thinks France has enough talent and quality to retain the World Champions status back to back after knocking a very strong England team.

Ronaldo has been very impressed by the top scorer of this World Cup, Kylian Mbappe. He has mentioned in the past, “I can talk about how fast he is, how good he is and he reminded me of when I played. He knows how to use his ability, how to go faster than the other players and use that ability to assist or score.” The Brazilian thinks Kylian Mbappe will win the World Cup with France again.
