Cristiano Ronaldo’s remarkable bicycle kick against Juventus in the Champions League left the soccer world in awe. People were stunned by the athleticism and skill that he displayed and even the Italian club’s supporters rose to their feet to show their appreciation. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest goals of all time.
Aside from an individual, there is no one who can claim the reward. It’s not difficult to figure out who this person is. Zlatan Ibrahimovic had a light-hearted reply to the former Real Madrid player’s goal, which was the deciding factor in their 3-0 victory in Turin.
When questioned about his endeavor, he informed ESPN SportsCenter, seemingly in connection to his strike towards England in 2012: “It was a nice goal, but he should try it from 40 metres.”
Ibrahimovic is considered to be amongst the greatest strikers in the history of the sport and is currently one of the most decorated active soccer players in the world with a total of 34 trophies to his name and has netted over 570 goals in his career.
Ibrahimovic began his career with Malmö FF in 1999, and two years later he moved to Ajax where he developed into one of Europe’s most promising forwards. He left two years later to join Juventus and then Inter Milan, where he won three consecutive Serie A titles.
In 2009, he signed with Barcelona in a high-profile transfer and then returned to Italy to join Inter’s rival Milan. He won the Serie A title in his first season with Milan. In 2012, he shifted to Paris Saint-Germain, which he led to their first Ligue 1 title in 19 years.
During his four-year stay in France, he was the top scorer in Ligue 1 for three seasons and became one of PSG’s all-time leading goalscorers at the time. In 2016, he signed with Manchester United and won his first European honor in his first season. Ibrahimović went to LA Galaxy in 2018 and returned to Milan in 2020, winning his fifth Serie A title in 2022.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic believes Lionel Messi is the GOAT
For years, there has been an ongoing argument about which of the two is superior Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, and even Zlatan Ibrahimovic has weighed in on the matter.
He had a difficult decision to make, but after seeing Messi’s greatness in person when they were teammates in Barcelona during the 2009-10 season, Ibrahimovic believes that the Argentine is superior to Cristiano.
The 40-year-old told: “The two are very strong. It would be a difficult choice. If I have to tell you I choose Messi because I’ve played with him, I’ve seen him up close and I know that everything he does is for nature, he’s not built. It’s all movement, all-natural.”
