PSG had a tough night out at San Siro as they suffered their second defeat in their Group F of UCL. Gianluigi Donnarumma had an even tougher night as the Italian fans of the club threw fake notes at their former goalkeeper on his return to the club.
The Italian goalkeeper moved away from AC Milan in 2021 and joined PSG in a controversial move. Donnarumma ran his contract down at the Italian club and moved as a free agent. The Ultras of AC Milan accused the keeper of demanding more money from AC Milan to renew his contract, which the club didn’t offer at the time.
The latest clash between PSG and AC Milan served as the first return of the Italian goalkeeper to his former club. As a response, fans behind the goal of Donnarumma threw fake banknotes at the keeper. The fans also wore number 71 t-shirts, which means ‘man without values’ in the Smorfia Napoletana system.

The Italian goalkeeper was visibly shaken by the reaction from the fans, however, Kylian Mbappe was on a different spectrum. As the camera panned toward the French superstar while Donnarumma was throwing away the notes, Mbappe was caught smiling at the incident.

The amusement of Mbappe drew interesting reactions from the fans. Mbappe is also currently running down his contract at PSG to move as a free agent to Real Madrid.
A major section of the fans trolled the French superstar for being on the same bandwagon of choosing his destination based on money Comments like “He yearns even for fake bills,” “He’s always after money,” “He wana go and picked up,” and “his soft spot” echoed the sentiments of the fans about the reaction of Mbappe to fake bills.
AC Milan’s win at San Siro complicates things for PSG and Kylian Mbappe
AC Milan ran out 2 – 1 winners over PSG with goals from Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud. The win put the Italian club back in contention to walk out of the Group of Death, Group F. On the other hand, PSG slipped into second position in the group after Dortmund came out on top against Newcastle.
At present, the group is poised for every team as anyone can make out of the group with favorable results in the last fixtures. PSG will host Newcastle and will travel to Dortmund for their last two fixtures. Both of these matches will be a tough test for the French club as Newcastle has already shown their strength by beating PSG 4-0 first time around in the group.

Meanwhile, an away fixture to Dortmund is never an ideal place to travel if you need a favorable fixture to make it out of the group. Failure to make it out of the Group stage will be a disaster for Luis Enrique’s side and will end all hopes of PSG of pursuing Mbappe to sign an extension. The next two fixtures are most important for the French club in the group, as failure can have impacts of different magnitude.
