Portugal crashed out of the FIFA World Cup 2022 after Cristiano Ronaldo and co. failed to find the equalizer after Morocco took the lead in the first half. The game was followed by tears on the Portuguese side. Cristiano Ronaldo was also seen walking off the pitch in tears.
Ronaldo’s elder sister, Katia Aveiro, has issued words of massive praise for her younger brother after the World Cup game yesterday in which Portugal was eliminated by Morocco.
Katia vowed to tell the tale of her brother to her children and grandchildren. The real tale of how a poor boy from the streets of Madeira made it big and conquered the world of soccer over two decades.
While recalling the problems that they faced while growing up, Katia mentioned buckets to catch water flowing from the ever-leaking roof, the plastic that covered the ground as a makeshift floor, and many other things.
Here’s the full version of the same:

“When my grandchildren ask me to talk about struggle, honor, glory, work, dedication, obstacles, human evil in exchange for envy, when they ask me to talk about trophies, goals, prizes, records of an unprecedented legacy, I will talk about my BROTHER, their uncle, who was born in a simple house in the middle of the ocean far from the capital of Portugal đ”đč where inside there were buckets and bowls to catch the rainwater that so often came in weight, where the floor was beaten earth covered with plastic (to look like a floor) where the food was cooked with wood, where the hot bath water was heated over the fire, and where his 4 brothers slept in his room, supported by two mattresses supported by bricks, where his father he was an ex-combatant and survivor of the overseas war and his mother was an orphan who left an orphanage and raised her family.
Our family.”
“I’ll tell you about the empire he built, I’ll tell you about his strength, what he promised and fulfilled, I’ll tell you about his character, I’ll tell you that he never gave up even when the grave had already been dug for him. I’m going to show the film the real film of their uncle’s life. And thank God I’m part of it. Part of his life âŠAnd what a beautiful life. So proud…”
All you need to know about Cristiano Ronaldo’s Father and Mother
Cristiano Ronaldo is without a doubt one of the most accomplished athletes of all time. His name is all but certain to feature in any debate regarding the best soccer players of all time. Moreover, the Portuguese soccer star has become a brand over the years. He is the most followed man on Instagram, which also serves as a source of passive income for him. Other than that, he is practically a money-making machine. He gets a weekly wage like all other soccer players, and he also charges big for brand endorsements.
However, life wasn’t always so simple and easy for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner. Ronaldo was born in Madeira in Portugal. His mother, Maria Dolores Aveiro has previously revealed that she wanted to abort her pregnancy when she was pregnant with Cristiano. This was due to poverty, her husband, Jose Dinis Aveiro’s alcoholism, and the fact that there were already 3 kids in the household. There were simply too many mouths to feed. However, the doctor who was consulted for aborting the pregnancy refused to perform the procedure.
As a result, Ronaldo was born into an impoverished household and had a distinct and unfair disadvantage from the very beginning.
Ronaldo’s mother was a cook when he was growing up and later, after the death of his father, she had to work multiple jobs to support her family.
His father, Jose, was a soldier who survived an overseas war, before returning to Portugal to work as a part-time gardener and equipment manager of a local club. He passed away in 2005 following a liver failure.
