On the other hand, United faced PL opponents Everton in the 3rd round and faced Reading in the next round. They went up against West Ham in the next round beating them convincingly as they set up their quarter-final match with Fulham.

They went past the London club in the quarter-finals after some chaotic happenings which saw the Fulham side go down to 9 men in the second half. The Red Devils faced their toughest task against Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton in the semi-final and the game had to go into penalties to decide a winner.
With this, United set up their final showdown against their noisy neighbors who are in the run for a treble. While United look to make this their 13th FA Cup triumph, City will be looking to win the trophy for the 7th time.
