Norwich striker Hwang Ui-jo has been the center of attention in a controversy involving her ex-partner, Hyomin. The striker has been suspended from the South Korean national team over allegations that he illegally filmed an s*x tape with his ex-girlfriend.
Park Sun-young also known as Hyomin is a South Korean singer who is known for her work as part of the K-pop group, T-ara. The 34-year-old singer became part of the group in 2009. She has released four studio albums with her group as well as two compilation albums and nine EPs. T-ara’s last album was released in 2014 after which Hyomin focused on her solo music career.

In 2018, she moved on from MBK Entertainment after her contract ended but promised her fans to promote T-ara in the future, if the opportunity presents itself. Over the last few years, she has continued to work on her solo work and has joined the new agency Andmarq in the summer of 2023.
Apart from her music career, Hyomin has also dipped her toes into an acting career. She gained some acting experience when she was cast in a musical named “Our Youth Roly-Poly.” After the musical, Hyomin also played key roles in Japanese films such as Jinx!, Nice Body, and Sketch. Apart from her musical and acting career, the singer is also praised for her fashion sense. The K-pop star has amassed 3.8 million followers on Instagram.
Relationship history with Hwang Ui-jo
The gossip surrounding Hyomin and Hwang Ui-jo started when the duo was spotted on a vacation in Switzerland in January 2022. The duo neither denied nor confirmed the relationship at the time, but the news of the breakup was confirmed by Hyomin’s manager in March 2022.
The manager stated that the singer was seeing the South Korean soccer player in January and had good feelings for each other but due to career pressure, they naturally grew apart and decided to part ways. The manager concluded by stating the duo has decided to remain acquaintances after the breakup.

Hyomin later commented that her relationship with Hwang Ui-jo became too burdensome, which was one of the biggest reasons she moved on from the soccer star. Since the breakup, eagle-eyed fans have pointed out some of the social media messages that may have pointed to Hwang. One such post that was revealed contained an English phrase, “I’d rather die than marry him.”
The three-month relationship has caused a big disturbance in the lives of both celebrities. The South Korean national team has suspended Hwang with a statement that read: “We have decided not to select Hwang Ui-jo for the national team until a clear conclusion is reached on the facts.”
South Korean manager, Jurgen Klinsmann has supported the decision of the national team. He commented: “I fully understand the current situation and will respect the decision of the Korea Football Association.” The name of the ex-partner is not revealed to the public but all the eyes are on Hyomin due to her troubling history with Hwang Ui-jo.
