Mason Greenwood’s realistic chance of coming back is looking bleaker with every passing day. A major part of the club fanbase and the soccer fans, in general, are against letting Greenwood back playing soccer professionally. The young forward got another setback as a female Manchester United player talked about how she feels about Mason’s comeback to the club.
The Mason Greenwood saga has received red lights mostly since his case was dropped earlier this month. The 21-year-old was arrested on January 22 last year. He was accused to have conducted physical assault, attempted rape, and forceful coercive behavior. All of the mentioned tortures were allegedly attempted on Mason’s partner Harriet Robson.

Greenwood was set for a trial this year on November 27. Last year after the initial arrest, Mason was released on bail with some specific court orders. He, however, didn’t abide by the court orders whatsoever. Mason’s lawyer Toal himself revealed that Greater Manchester Police was aware of the situation but didn’t do anything. This particular revelation angered the fans massively.
There were mixed reactions from fans as the Crown Council dropped the case under questionable circumstances. The council explained that the prime cooperator of the case withdrew their complaints and there is no reason to further go on with the Greenwood case. Manchester United however launched an internal investigation into the player before making anything official in this matter.
Manchester United’s female team is deeply against the comeback of Mason Greenwood
Mason Greenwood faced huge repercussions after he was arrested. The club suspended him indefinitely until further notice. EA Sports removed him from the FIFA 22 game and didn’t include him at all in the latest FIFA 23 edition at all.
Very recently Mason faced another setback. He tagged Nike and Manchester United in his Instagram profile description. He mentioned him as a Nike-sponsored athlete and a soccer player for Manchester United. Mason also made 9 pictures public on his account since his arrest last year. All of them were Manchester United-related. Earlier this week Nike announced that they have no official contract remaining with Mason Greenwood.
The young forward faced another backlash yesterday from the Manchester United women’s team. According to a report by The Athletic, members of the women’s team are very much ‘uncomfortable’ about the idea of seeing Mason put on the prestigious shirt.

A particular quote from the women’s team summarized how disgusted they feel even thinking about Mason Greenwood’s comeback. The statement said, “I just don’t want him to see in training. I don’t want to see him in the United kit. I don’t want to see him ever coming out of Old Trafford again.” It clearly shows the impact of the allegations and the audio clips that came to light as pieces of evidence.
With each passing day, the young forward’s comeback is looking more impossible, as there is a huge humanitarian point of view to this. As of now, things are looking blurry for Mason Greenwood’s professional career.
