Cristiano Ronaldo has caused yet another mayhem in the world recently. He is one of the biggest personalities in the world and it is not a surprise that his name is on everyone’s lips today. For context, the Portuguese star signed a deal with Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. The move comes after the explosive interview with Piers Morgan that turned the world upside down last month.
The deal was announced by the club a few hours ago. Their statement mentioned, “History in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome [Cristiano] to your new home.”

The move has come under fans’ scrutiny as many believe that Ronaldo has “retired”. The main reason for this would be because soccer fans have seen him perform on the biggest stage. And fans believe that since he might not return to the big leagues again, Ronaldo will retire soon.
How much is Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al Nassr contract?
Ronaldo has signed a huge bumper contract that will make him the highest-paid in soccer history. According to Fabrizio Romano, Ronaldo’s contract with Al Nassr will see him receive about a whopping $214.5 million (€200 million) per year! This amount is inclusive of commercial deals that Ronaldo will be a part of as well.

The soccer world has questioned the move in the past. Many claimed it to be the downfall of his career. Along with that, fans believed that Ronaldo’s legacy is now ruined as well. That’s not all the frenzy that the 5x UCL winner has caused.

Back in 2015, Cristiano Ronaldo said on the Jonathan Ross show that he wants to retire after playing at the top level. Make no mistake, Al Nassr is one of the biggest soccer clubs in the country, with 9 league trophies. However, it is not a club that plays in the UEFA Champions League. Moreover, the Saudi Pro League is not one of the top leagues in the world as well.
The former Manchester United star has been playing in the top European leagues all of his career. During his second stint at Old Trafford, the no.7 found the net on 27 occasions. These numbers were quite decent considering his age at the time. With that said, it seems like he would not have expected his career to take such a drastic turn, and that he would leave Europe.
Ronaldo’s comments have come back to haunt him and it looks like he has gone back on his words. Whatever the case is, the 37-year-old will remain a legend in all our hearts, especially for the magic he has produced on the soccer pitch. It would be interesting for soccer fans to see how he performs for Al Nassr.
