PSG star Kylian Mbappe has announced his decision to leave the club once his contract expires in 2024. The player has decided against renewing his contract at the French club. Furthermore, the player is currently heavily linked with a move to Real Madrid.
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has, however, made it clear that Mbappe will not be leaving the club for free. Furthermore, Kylian Mbappe must sign another contract with PSG if he does not want to leave this summer.
The president shared, “Kylian will not leave for free. If he wants to stay, he must renew. We want him to stay but he can’t leave for free. There was a verbal agreement and he had discussed it in an interview.”

He further added, “And I was really shocked to learn that he had decided to leave for free. It’s very disappointing because Mbappe is a fantastic boy, a real gentleman and to leave for free, weakening the biggest club in France, it’s not him. When I heard the news, I was shocked and disappointed.”
Nasser Al-Khelaifi gives the player two weeks to decide on his future. He shares, “It’s for him to decide for himself next week, or at most in the next two weeks. And if he does not want to sign a new contract, the door is open. It’s like that for him and everyone else. Nobody is bigger than the club, no player, not even me. It’s very clear.”
The PSG president does not want Kylian Mbappe to leave the club for free. It will be interesting to see how the Mpabbe transfer saga turns out in the end.
Luis Enrique on Kylian Mbappe’s future at PSG
Luis Enrique was recently announced as the new manager of the French club PSG. The former Barcelona coach replaced Christophe Galtier, who had his contract terminated mutually after his poor season.
Enrique signed a two-year deal with the French giants. The new manager was asked about star player Mbappe‘s future at his first press conference. Enrique, however, remained tight-lipped about the player’s future.

The manager revealed, “When I signed, when we talked about the squad, we know that the squad can move. It’s private, I can’t deliver confidences. We are going to try to have the best possible squad.”
Luis Enrique would be expected to bring European success to the French club. However, the manager would have to achieve this without the likes of Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos, who left the club. The manager might even have to manage a squad without Mbappe if the player decides to leave this summer.
