Lionel Messi’s former teammate Sergio Aguero has launched a scathing criticism of Eduardo Aguirre, a good friend of Cristiano Ronaldo. Eduardo Aguirre has built up a reputation for being a close ally of Ronaldo and sometimes defaming Messi. However, Sergio Aguero was having none of it and blasted Aguirre during a live stream.
Former Manchester City star Sergio Aguero revealed on a stream that he had received a video of Eduardo Aguirre. In the video, Aguirre insulted Argentine midfielder Rodri Di Paul for always being beside Messi. Responding to this, Aguero said, “We must talk about the fact that the one who is really doing this in Ronaldo’s media is you (Aguirre)“.
Aguero 🎙️: I want to send a message to someone called Edu Aguirre, and I think his name is Edu Aguirre, right? Who defends Cristiano Ronaldo. That day they sent me a short video talking about Messi
We know who this person is, but what caught my attention is that he calls De Paul… pic.twitter.com/KOdPNaf1X9

He continued, “If Ronaldo farts, you will be there to blow on him so that the wind goes in another direction“. Aguero also talked about Messi’s recent confrontation with Rodrygo which has generated quite a controversy on the Internet. Aguero rebuked Rodrygo for calling Messi a “coward” during Argentina’s heated clash against Brazil a few days ago.
In addition to this, Sergio Aguero quite openly challenged Eduardo Aguirre to respond to his statements. Sergio further reiterated that he has no problem talking face-to-face with Aguirre. Currently, Eduardo has yet to respond to Aguero’s bold statement.
Eduardo Aguirre’s past controversial statements about Lionel Messi
Eduardo Aguirre is a Spanish journalist, TV host, and director of the program ‘El Chiringuito’. Over the years, Aguirre has developed close ties with former Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Eduardo has often openly expressed his love for Ronaldo on social media platforms and in his program. He has also often slandered Lionel Messi, Ronaldo’s arch-rival, and Messi’s former club, FC Barcelona.
Following Lionel Messi’s recent eighth Ballon d’Or victory, Eduardo Aguirre discredited the Inter Miami star’s achievement. Aguirre claimed that Messi‘s Ballon d’Or win was a tribute, just like the 2022 World Cup was. He further went on to claim that Messi wasn’t the best player at the World Cup 2022 and not even the best Argentine player in the tournament.
Moreover, Eduardo Aguirre also made a controversial claim after Cristiano Ronaldo joined Al-Nassr earlier in 2023. Following Ronaldo’s move, Aguirre claimed that Messi would instantly give up his 2022 World Cup title for a contract as lucrative as Ronaldo’s. However, Messi has yet to respond to any of Eduardo Aguirre’s criticisms or claims.
