Erling Haaland has been making the headlines regularly after his transfer to Manchester City. The Norwegian has been breathtaking in his debut season for the club breaking many records. But he has recently made the headlines after he was asked a question regarding Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Haaland was recently asked whether he would prefer Ronaldo’s right foot or Messi’s left foot. The striker is yet another soccer star to be asked about the Messi-Ronaldo debate which has been going on for a decade.
The interviewer asked: “Ronaldo’s right foot vs Messi’s left foot, which one you taking”
Haaland didn’t seem confused at all and it seemed like he knew what he wanted. He named Ronaldo’s right foot as he stated that he already has a good left foot of his own. The striker is known for his strong finishes with his left foot while he is also a huge threat aerially.

Ronaldo was known for his stunning free kicks with his right foot. He had a reputation for scoring some brilliant goals from outside the box early in his career and one of which even won the Puskas Award.
Messi, on the other hand, is known for his accurate passes with his stronger left foot. The Argentine developed a knack for scoring some wonder free kicks with his left foot. But it seems like the Norwegian Haaland prefers Ronaldo’s power over Messi’s accuracy.
The answer would have enraged Messi fans and would have left them with a feeling of betrayal. This is because of Haaland’s previous response to a question regarding Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Haaland was asked whether Messi will stay the better player for a longer time or Ronaldo. The rivalry between the duo has defined soccer for more than a decade and is still continuing to even though both are in the latter parts of their careers.
The interviewer had asked: “If you had to bet on it, who would win the Ballon d’Or 2025?”
The Norwegian slowly whispered ‘Messi’ as he let his feelings about the Argentine be known to the world. It might not surprise fans or even Haaland if he beats both his idols to the Ballon d’Or in 2025. If his form this season is anything to go by, he only needs consistency to reach the levels of the two superstars.
