Cristiano Ronaldo is the epitome of hard work and inspiration to the soccer world. Born in Madeira, Portugal in 1985, he has seen poverty and hardship. He was the youngest child of the Catholic Christian family of Aveiros. Cristiano lost his father at 20 but never stopped working hard to be a better soccer player and a better person.
The 37-year-old Portuguese record goalscorer had only a trophy left to add to his collection, a FIFA World Cup. His dream came to an end on 9th December 2022 when his team lost against the highly unlikely Moroccan team. It is safe to say that he won’t stick around until the 2026 World Cup. He will be 41 by then. The veteran striker left the pitch in tears after the match.
He didn’t have a great tournament from an individual point of view. His penalty against Ghana is the only goal he scored in this tournament. His lack of goals also saw him benched by Fernando Santos in both the knockout matches. Later on, Georgina Rodriguez slammed Fernando Santos for that decision in her Instagram story.
Cristiano Ronaldo talks about his retirement after World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo’s major fallout with Manchester United just before the World Cup resulted in him without a club. No big clubs are willing to sign him following his massive decline in form with a potential financial and philosophical risk. He posted a picture in his Instagram story which says “Pain, Uncertainty and Hard Work”. It has made the soccer world sympathetic to the great man, and they reacted politely to it across social media.

I am worried about him. Who could deal with the last 7 months he’s endured? We can’t imagine such public defeat and defamation on that level.

Cristiano Ronaldo has largely kept quiet since the loss. He posted an emotional apology on Instagram. He stated what would have it meant to finally win it with Portugal. His club future is very uncertain, according to his playing ambitions. Saudi Arabian outfit offered him a deal worth $173 million, for the second time in a row. Only time will tell what is going to happen with Ronaldo’s future.
