Barcelona are seemingly interested in making a loan offer for Manchester City’s star player Joao Cancelo. According to various sources, the switch is very likely to happen. However, if the player completes the loan move, the terms and conditions of his new contract at Barca are yet to be finalized.
When looking at Joao’s potential salary at Barcelona, it could be around $5.7 to $6.4 Million for the season. Of course, looking at his experience and playing time with the current premier league champions Manchester City, Barcelona might have to settle for a high fee.
According to the sources FC Barcelona has given the green light for the move. The amount of loan fee that City will demand might also not be an issue for the La Liga club. The loan move always comes with the fee of loan obligations and it’s good to see for Barca fans that their club has no problems with the Financial Fair Play (FFP) and is willing to pay the extra expenses for Cancelo.
The figure could go up to $6.5 Million. The exact sum could only be told after all the formalities are done. Other than Barcelona, City’s Premier League rivals and the title contenders for the previous season- Arsenal were also interested in the Portuguese player.
The Manchester City player might earn more than some of the star players at Barcelona. This won’t surprise the fans. During his time with Inter Milan and Juventus Cancelo was a pretty successful player. His move to Inter Milan was a loan move.

Jaoa Cancelo still has time left on his contract with the Premier League Giants. His estimated weekly revenue at City is around $286,000 to $350,000. His six-year deal with City can easily sail him through to a handsome sum of money by the time his contract is up. Cancelo will not lose much even if he pursues the loan move to Barca, as his pay will only increase.
